Cliff, There may be no modern 500mm Pentax fast glass, but there is always the FA 600mm F4.0 telephoto! The price difference between this and a N***n or C***n is neglible at this end of the market. And from what I hear, it is a stunner of a lens. Ask John Mustarde....
