Indeed, except Canon already have non-full frame DSLRs (10D, D60,
D30 etc)
that their new mount will _not_ work on.

Of course, one could say they'll work on as many previous Canon
DSLRs before
the 300D, as DA lenses will on Pentax DSLRs before the *istD....

The second bit was more of a comment on the fact that Pentax do not yet have DSLR compatibility issues because there's only one. Not to say it'll stay that way.


Basically I just meant to say that it is a little less compatible than something like a DA lens, which simply addresses the new medium dimensions. It is more akin to breaking compatibility between two identical media; both the 10D and 300D are the same format, yet not lens compatible in this regard, which I think is a more serious break than say an APS format DA lens not working on a 35mm (no one expects 35mm lenses to work on a 67)
