Joe I know of two parameters: 1. Penta Prism (old and/or expensive) vs Penta Mirror (modern and/or cheap) - construction. 2. Coated glass vs Plastic of the eyepiece itself - material. Say, my ME Super boasts Penta Prism and Coated Glass eye piece. My MZ-6 has Penta Mirror and plastic eyepiece. First is pleasure to look through, second is barely sufficient. Just my cents.
