I was doing some macro work on a tripod and wanted to use mirror lockup with
the remote: I referred to the manual to find out how and was astounded to
discover that the 3 sec option on the remote doesn't allow mirror lock up!
In the end I used the 2sec mode of the self timer (which does have mirror
lockup) but I felt that the vibration of my finger pushing the shutter
button cancelled out any advantage of using mirror lockup. I would have
used the 12 sec option of the self timer but of course that doesn't have
mirror lockup. Now, how easy would it have been to make the mirror lockup
mode independant of the timer or remote? (it has even been done before with
the K2). What were the *istD designers thinking?! As Alan Chan once said
"Pentax obviously doesn't like to make a camera too perfect".
