Its an excellent lens no doubt, but there is a better version with SMC coatings otherwise just like it, and in any case both of them have MANUAL aperture setting workable but slow.
I still recommend the RMC Tokina 400 5.6 It has full auto aperture and the multicoatings and is at least as good as the takumar if not better. Its more compact too and has IF so it stays small.
