REPLY: I believe Pentax will release MF based digital solution the moment prices are so low that they are interesting for the advanced amateur. Today digital solution for medium format are strictly niche products of no particular interest for those manufacturers interested in volumes. Digital solution for MF really need to be "mass market" (in MF volume terms) and for that they need to appeal to the amateur. This is in fact true for all "professional" camera gear that sells in anything resembling volumes. Eg. the Nikon F series cameras have less than 5% pro share. Hasselblad less than 10%. Obviously the high-end is totally dependent on amateurs willing to spend. However, amateurs willing to spend $15 000 on a digital back are rare indeed. P�l
