I could see a use for this lens on the *ist D. So herewith I ask my usual questions of those who own it:
I owned it for a short while.
How is it at wider apertures?
Not sharp, worse than M135/3.5.
Can one get decent enlargements (8-1/2 x 11 inch or A4) at f2.8? How does it perform on the *ist D?
No idea, never done that.
Also, where is the rear element during focusing? At any point, does it come to the end of the rear flange? (This question is to ascertain whether it could be used with the Sigma APO 1.4x extender.)
The rear element is fixed, but recessed inside so it should be okay.
