You put that well, Brian.

For anybody that cares, there are about 100 people on this list who have been here for years. Strangely it is those active posters who make the list what it is, which is one of the nicest mailing lists anywhere.

There are about another 100 active people who subscribe post for awhile then go away. About 1 in 10 of them think we should change the list to something else just to accommendate them. If we did, next month there would be no list.

There are another 400 or so folks who lurk, or post rarely. It is hard to get a grip upon them. I know some of them have been reading the list longer than I have been on it. Some of them only come, look, unsubscribe.

The point is that the personality of this list reflects those 100 or so folks mentioned first. They are the list. Without them the best that can happen is this would become some other list. Most likely however, it would just disappear.

However, Brian, I would take it as a personal favor if you would leave Anthony's name in the message somewhere so my troll filters can delete it with out my seeing it. I do not need to read 50 messages about Trojan Horses by people that do not even know what that is, which includes the author of the article he quoted.

Hey Brian,

I think we already covered Iraq, religion and politics! But then you
should know that seeing as you have been around so long. Personally I
would prefer you did unsubscribe, along with your pals, if all you can
do is hurl abuse.

A.

Dude, you just don't get it, do you? We were here long before you arrived.
We were, are, and will be perfectly happy to be here. We're not going
anywhere. It's YOUR responsibility to adapt yourself to the unique
personality and rules of conduct of this community to which you've
proactively subscribed. Or to leave. Nobody forced you to sign up. And
nobody's forcing you to stay. But for you to think that we should all
transform ourselves and our community to fit your rules is the ultimate in
both arrogance and delusion.
