I was doing some night-sky shots on the shore of Lake Tekapo the other
day. I mounted the 15mm on the camera and put them on the tripod before
leaving, then slung the rig over my shoulder to walk from the cabin to the
lake shore (only about a 2 minute walk).
What I didn't know was that the lens was pointing down and the cap silently
fell off onto the long grass while I was walking :( Once I'd set up the camera
and opened the shutter I went back to look for it, and luckily I was able to
find it again!
I'm glad the 43mm cap fits a bit tighter but I'm still not terribly excited by a
slip-on hood...
