On 12/7/04, Paul Stenquist, discombobulated, offered:

>I was the Managing Editor of a magazine in a previous life, so I'll
>vouch for the fussiness. Usually it has to do with the number of
>editorial pages per issue and what the publisher thinks will help
>support advertising. Sometimes I wasn't allowed to use the best
>material, because the publisher claimed he couldn't sell ads against
>that kind of editorial. The bottom line in magazine publishing is small
>and tenuous. Unfortunately, monetary considerations frequently dictate
>editorial in all but the very high end magazines.

On the plus side, AP is pro- Canon and I make the right noises there.

Pentax does get a good mention though ;-)

I've penned 2000 words. The last couple of 'a reader writes' articles
have been about 1000 to 1500 so there's plenty to chop if they want. Or
they can keep it long and add more zeros to the check ;-))))

I'm expecting a rejection

Cheers,
  Cotty
