"Updating of classic Tessar design for manual focus
applications"
I would have thought the original Tessar design was optimized
for manual focus.
And they brag about the 7 rounded aperture blades for "natural
out of focus highlights".
Doesn't the 43mm have 9 blades? I know the 77 does.
They don't mention any metal though.
It's also a stop slower than the Pentax 43mm f1.9.
Also, it has to be used on Nikon bodies.
The FM-3a on the other hand looks like a sweet camera. It used
the MD-12 motor, which means it is, in fact, an FE/FM chassis. I
liked my FE and FM-2 lots. I don't know about the match needle
meter. I really do think LEDs are better.

department, if there was any metal anywhere close to this lens,
we'd know about it.
