Hi
Once again I draw on the collective knowledge of the group. I'm trying to find out the name of a photographer.
Back in 1999-2000(?) I visited the St Louis Art Museum and stumbled upon a temporary photo exhibit there. If I remember correctly, the photographer went around NYC(?) renting apartments in high rises, blacking them out completely and basically making the apartment into a large pinhole camera. The photos were cityscapes. (They had a picture of an apartment he had set up this way.)
Now I think the pictures were taken in the 40's or 50's(?), probably using huge sheets of film when they were more likely to have been made. I remember one negative that had been blown up to wall size. Really impressive detail.
If anyone has a clue what I'm talking about, can you please give me the photographer's name.
TIA, John
