Wow!

Well... thanks! I read this yesterday on my way out for the weekend. With three kids in the car I didnt have the time to answer. Which is OK, as I dint know what to say :-)

Actually, I still dont, but...
The "Reflection" picture http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2035399 was the first of the series and is based on the common mistake when you take a picture of someone and a tree seams to grow out of the subjects head. There is another, burning, candle above the one you see, rising up above the black background and with another black background. The reflection of its flame is positioned exactly where the flame of the candle you see should have been. With sufficient DOF the illusion is perfect. The hard part is in fact how fast the candle burns before it is out of position.

Creative? Nice of you, but some (like my wife) call it restlessness. I do not have the patience to take another picture to perfect it, I always try to do something else. Sometimes it works, but most times it doesnt. As I try to PAW pictures that are actually from the last week you will see that. That, by the way, was the reason why http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2519240 wasnt used, it was from the same trip as the bridges.

Galleries? Maybe when the kids are big enough so I can concentrate. I did participate in one show with self portraits. I got some nice comments there, so maybe...

But anyway: Through all the years what I have learnt most from is other peoples comments, so thank you and all the others for encouragement and criticism.

DagT -

these are a very cool series of pics. I love the colour, composition and
movement that each possesses.

Now, I have something else to say....

I just viewed the rest of the images that you have on photo.net and I am
extremely impressed by your work! Some of the shots I have seen before, but
most, I've never seen.

DagT, I have always looked with interest at everything that you post as you
have an extremely artistic and creative take on things, however, my respect
for your work has just jumped up another level. I just LOVE your stuff!!

This shot here just ROCKS:

And as for those in your "Unmanipulated" series, well, omg, they are just
fantastic! The one entitled "reflection" is mind-boggling just how *did*
you do that?!?!

I also love the shots of the capsicum!

Sorry to sound as though I am gushing here, but honestly, I just love your
work, and I think that credit should always be given where it is due. If
you're not doing it already, you should be hanging this stuff in art
galleries...

It is so great to see a photographer with such unique vision, and a creative
take on his subjects that is so different from anything I have ever seen
before!

Thanks! I appreciate your comments.

I have been working a little more on the concept and put three of these
pictures together in a series:

Im not sure if it adds anything, but there is something about the
movements that makes me think more about the idea.

Dag, I am in reflective mood today. So modulo the mood I really like
this. If the bike was stationary and in total focus this would've been
a clear winner. It has this fascinating motive of two motions crossing
each other in some way. I am not sure whether I would have taken such
shot, but I like it. It makes me want to talk more about it.

Thanks!

Boris
