Linear -- it's the standard Pentax centerweighted gallium meter in the prism, which doesn't require the circular polarizer. Though it has TTL flash metering, it doesn't have the semi-silvered spot on the mirror that requires light to pass through the mirror to a meter cell (or an autofocus sensor) when the mirror is down (like the LX or autofocus cameras).
