Great about the upcoming show too.

Hi, Y'all,
I'm sure no one noticed (except perhaps to breath a sigh of relief), but I haven't been around for about a week. And, an eventful week it was, too! (more on that later)
Last Tuesday, we had a huge thunderstorm rumble through town, and a power surge came through the phone line (for which we have no surge protection), which fried both the modem, and the phone that's connected to the other end of the computer.
I was away for the weekend, during which time my roomate got a new modem, but we didn't get around to installing it until tonight. So, that's why I haven't been around, and why I now have almost 1500 messages to sort through over the next day or two. Thank goodness I switched to Yahoo mail; my Hotmail inbox would've been overflowing by Friday, and I would have made Doug the List Guy even grumpier than he is normally! <g>
The week, as I said, was not uneventful. On Saturday
I got the word that I've got another show on the go. Not until February, 2005, at a cafe in Kingston (where
my kids live) called the Sleepless Goat. It's a
pretty cool place, and it has absolutely tons of wall
space. I'd guess I'll have to put together at least
20 to 30 11x14's. Looks like it's going to be my
largest show yet, so that's some good news.
Bad news: well, now that the new modem's in, the scanner won't scan - probably the card physically came loose, so it'll just mean opening the back of the computer again, but it's still a PIA, especially since I have a PAW I wanted to post. It can wait, I guess.
Worse news: I no longer have a job. Can't really get
into details, but something happened such that I can
no longer work for my courier company (just happened
today). Call it a Human Resource issue, if you will. There is actually a silver lining to this, I think, as
I've been wanting to get out of the courier biz for a
while - I'm just getting tired of riding a bike for a
living. So, I have some time now to get into
something a bit more suitable, and perhaps (hopefully)
more lucrative. After a month or two, if nothing
turns up, I can always go to another courier company,
but I hope it doesn't come to that.
I'll take a day or two to get my you-know-what
together, and start pounding the pavement, looking for
that dream job.
Anything else? I think not - hey, ain't that enough news for one post? <vbg>
Nice to be back. I missed you guys...
cheers, frank
