Well, I know what Greywolf meant, as the term "general
consensus" is used often, but really, the word
"general" is quite redundant.  By it's very nature,
consensus is general.  If it weren't, there'd be no
consensus, IMHO.

Of course, that's kind of beside the point.  We all
know what Tom meant.  And, with the number that have
thanked him for, and agreed with the contents of his
FAQ, I daresay that consensus is there.  Seems to me
that so far, only one person seems not to agree with
the content of them (although he didn't specify what
he disagrees with).

And, of course, these aren't "rules" or "guidelines"
or any such thing.  They're really a set of loosely
agreed upon protocols, manners if you will, that seem
to have worked well in the past to keep the list
running smoothly, and seem to be of assistance to get
the ship back on even keel when the seas get a bit
rough (sorry about the nautical metaphore - it just
came out that way, and I don't feel like changing it,
hackneyed though it is <g>).
