Hi Ann, it is a butterfly - and no moth! Ok it is a bit hairy, but that is common to almost all butterflies living in the northern regions (northern in relation to the Mediterranean) as southern Germany where I live in. The wings are spread out to gather the rays of the warming sun. This one is called "Kleiner Fuchs" and his caterpillars are living on stinging nettles. In Germany these butterflies are really common (as the stinging nettles) - but I like its colors (brownish red bordered with the blue band).
Best regards, Hans. --- Ann Sanfedele <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Hans Imglueck wrote: > > http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2558903 > > This time a lovelier subject compared to my last two PAWs. > > Comments are welcome! > > Regards, Hans. > > _____________________________________________________________ > 23a mail Hi, Hans Nice capture - but, but um - I think that is a moth, not a butterfly :) (note fat fuzzy body and wings spread out.) don't know exactly "who" this is though - anyone???
