A great thing about the Vivitar is that it comes with a built-in shade/hood,
which the A 2.8/20mm doesn't.
This is crutial for wideangle shots. And of course the Vivitar is not quite
as fast.

If you shoot for money or just for fun not is not important. The photographs
are important. The only difference between a pro or amatueur photograph is
the number of people who get to see it.
And maybe not even that. If I shoot a nice amateur photograph (like the one
from the Lithuenian cathedral) and put it on the internet, more people will
probably l see it, than perhaps a "proffessional photograph" of a car
accident in a local newspaper!

That's fine!
I have a shot of Wells Cathedral (UK) and my daughter is not fond of it, but
without a shift lens, tall buildings DO distort! Way it is!
So, I'm a lot more forgiving of things like that. Without "acceptance," I'd
have NO shots of a lot of places, which I can now look back on and enjoy. So
what if I blow it up to 11x17" and can detect some barrel distortion. Big
deal.
I'm not shooting for money... Gotta be realistic!

I'd love to have an A 2.8, but suspect I cannot afford it right now. So I
keep the Vivitar...
I just got an FA* 24mm f/2.0! That will keep me shut up for a bit, it will!

Good work, Jens.
