My opinion is that if a 28-200 is the only lens you have you will use it. If you have about anything else in your kit you will not.


The first sentence above is true... as when I first bought the PZ-1p in '97 I got the FA 28 - 200 and it was all I used for a while. Regardless of the disparaging remarks, it turned out 100's of quite satisfactory vacation memento shots including some decent skiing shots of my son when using predictive AF.


I'm not recommending anyone run right out and buy one (if it's still made), primes are still the way I prefer to shoot. I'm saying for the price and expectations it did a satisfactory job. If all one could afford was one all-purpose/multi-purpose lens, and enlargements were not a factor, it does OK, IMO. Certainly nicer results than most P&S cameras.
