I just tried this: put the DA 16-45 on a PZ-1p and let it autofocus where it wanted to. I then turned the manual focus ring without switching to manual focus. It seems to work. There seemed to be just a very slight noise that I do not notice when I do this with the DA 16-45 on the *ist D. Other than that small noise, the DA 16-45 can be manually focused on the PZ-1p without the resistance that one feels with other lenses. There must be a clutch mechanism inside the lens.
