Clearly they haven't a clue.

Rob Studdert made me do it (i.e., send the wicked query to Pentax USA to see if they were aware that some of the FA 77 had made it to the U.S.)

Some time back, when we were discussing the lack of availability of the DA 16-45, someone posted that Sigma now does not warehouse lenses. Instead, lenses are shipped from Manilla directly to retailers soon after they are manufactured.

This communication suggests that Pentax does the same. That is, the few FA 77s that made it to the U.S. went directly to B&H, without Pentax USA knowing about it. Notwithstanding the canned reply below, I now suspect that Pentax USA no longer receives gear and reships it to dealers.
