No doghouse yet Doug. Thanks! You each send me a $1.00 for these shots and
I'll come build the doghouse... OK? :-)
There's a significant chance of solar flares in the next several days. I am
totally ashamed of the fact that when I walked out and saw this that I had
just wasted the prior hour watching something totally unmemorable on the
stinkin' TV.
Keep a close eye on the NOAA space weather site http://www.sec.noaa.gov/ and
just walk out around 11:00 - 12:00 every night. Clear skies and no moon
helped, I'm sure. It's hit and miss but I'm sure glad I didn't miss all of
this one.
Also, my wife apparently has much better night vision than me. She
encouraged me to keep shooting and I never expected these results!
Here's the earlier info:
I was using a PZ-1p. The lens was FA 43/1.9 accidentally set at 2.8 (it was
dark, I couldn't see what I was doing, and I was frantically hurrying in
case it faded... which it did about 5 minutes after I started). I used
Provia 100F +2 stops with approximately 30 second exposures
(one-one-thousand, two-one-thousand).
