Probably guck on the curtain rail. I'd think that a CLA would fix that. I mean, I guess you could just go get the curtain rail cleaned, but for the cost of that, it would be silly not to get a complete overhaul IMHO. I had a similar occurance with my MX when I first got it (I bought it "as is", and expected it might need a CLA anyway). When you say the film advance lever won't spring back, I assume you mean it stays all the way out? On many older cameras (like my Spotmatics) the lever will stay about 10 degrees or so away from the body, so you can "grab" it with your thumb quickly. One has to manually push it back those few degrees so it's flush with the body. So, assuming you mean it sticks out all the way, and not just those few degrees, no, it shouldn't, but I'd guess that the CLA that you should get will fix that. cheers, frank ===== "The optimist thinks this is the best of all possible worlds.
