Hi Frank ....

Made the exposure to eliminate the background as much as possible. In the
original there are some highlights showing that are reflecting from the
leaves of the big plant behind the chair. I brought those down, and
reduced the background brightness a scosh, just as I would have done in the
darkroom. It's pretty much a "straight print" with no fancy manipulation
.... oh, yeah, did some spotting, as well.

Speaking of the street and homeless people, I was thinking about a series
in which I take a chair to various locations, photographing it in
unexpected spots, like at the beach, in the middle of a street, at a
shopping center, in a parking lot - photographing it out of its normal
context - maybe getting some people to sit in it as well, or just catching
the reactions of people as I photograph it, and so on. Might be fun.

Anyway, as always, your comments and thoughts are most interesting. I
should take you around to galleries with me and have you explain the
meaning of my snapshots <LOL> You often find more in them than I do ....

BTW, I was going to make a B&W version as well, and have actually started
on the conversion. Of course then it would become art, and need a more
artsy title. Of course it could be called Green Chair or Purple Chair, and
who would know (and who would care <LOL>)
