Im holding off on a DSLR for a while, a bit too pricey for me still and doPentax definitely doesn't offer this. The Canon EOS-1D has 1.3x crop, I think, while the Kodak DCS Pro range is truly full-frame. I've been under the impression that Nikon do not offer this, but I could be wrong.
really enjoy using film. When I do buy a DSLR though I willl be looking at a
FF system (or at least a 1.3x crop) where I can use MF and AF lenses on both
film and digital bodies. I believe Nikon currently offer this, not sure
about Pentax and Canon. Anyone know what the score is?
Personally I've been dreaming about a DSLR without obsolescence built in, i.e. where you might upgrade the sensor (or replace it with one with different resolution and/or sensitivity, or have one for colour and one for B&W, or...), but maybe that's too far fetched. (Actually, I don't think it is from a technical viewpoint, but commercially, perhaps.)

Yep. I know the feeling. I have too much money invested in phoptographic equipment. So, in order to buy the *ist D, I have decided to sell as much as I need to finance the new camera. Enough is enough. I will not be spending money at all - just re-arranging a little. And honestly, it's kind of stupid to have a lot of ewuipment ying arround, that is never being used. Somone else might make use of it. This decision has taken me almost a year to reach. :-) Jens

I have 16-20 Pentax bodies that I will be selling and I'm
trying to decide if the *ist should be among them.
I wish you well with this. I have spent a torturous fortnight asking myself if I am becoming a camera collector or a hobby photographer. I sold a camera yesterday - the first time I've ever been anything other than a buyer of them. Not a pleasant experience and one which I see sadly being repeated several times over the next few weeks. Times are a changing....
