Just a comment on the original pics. I've been away for a while and am just catching up on the digest version. Hope my comments are not too repetitious. It is difficult to judge shots that have been scanned because of the variabilities in the scanning process. First off, I'm not sure about the Konica film. I doubt that it would go a long way in maximizing the quality of a lens. Most importantly I believe the images were either overexposed in camera or scanned too light. Overexposed images always look less sharp than they really are... Try it again using a fine grain slide film and bracket. I have a 15mm and sharpness is not an issue...
