Anyone using such device

I briefly looked at one and decided that for travel purposes, an MP3 jukebox met my needs much better. My purpose for the device was to provide temporary storage in case I needed to dump my memory cards while I didn't have the laptop with me.

I settled on a Archos Gmini 120 which retails for about US$199. (Compared to the Delkin Burnaway's US$299 at the Delkin online store)

The Gmini 120's 20 GB hard drive provides more than enough temporary storage.

It also plays and records music in the form of MP3 files (has a built-in microphone too).

The high-speed USB2 interface is fast (although memory card to jukebox transfers are much slower).

It comes with some sort of image wallet software that I didn't use (in any case, the display is monochrome)

The downside is that it only has a CompactFlash slot, so if you're using some other kind of memory card, you're out of luck. However, this partly keeps the device small and it does read microdrives.

If I had more money, I'd have bought a FlashTrax because it has a built-in preview screen and supports Pentax RAW:

But it costs quite a bit more.
