I think that this might be an acceptable loss given the smooth
operation. Also, I never notice the viewfinder as being  particularly
dark.  OTOH, that was a f2-2.4 zoom.

Apart from the loss of speed (which was a real drag as it limited the
effective 
ISO to 80) the type of sensor used in the *ist D and other similar
cameras 
requires dark to calibrate and desaturate but it offers better noise 
performance and faster response. The Oly E-10 is a great camera though,
it's 
the ultimate stealth SLR as the only noise it makes is from the action
of the 
aperture blades :-)
