the only filter that has to be for auto focus or manual focus is the
polerizer. circular polerizer for auto focus and regular polerizer for
manual focus cameras. it has to do with the auto focus system or the
metering system. i'm not sure.

I just got home from going out and pricing polarized circular filters.
Well, I went to Camera America and told the guy what I was looking for.
He asked me if it was for a auto focus or manual focus camera. And I told him
that I have a ZX50 that I use in both modes. Also that most of the lens I have
do not work with the auto focus, so I use them all on manual focus. One of the
filters was for 17 dollars (manual focus)and the other 30 dollars (auto
focus).
Well he began telling me that I could not use these lens on my ZX50 because
they
were not AF lenses.
I have taken pictures with them and they have turned out wonderful. So I am
not understanding why he would say this. He said that they would not work
with
the TTL, ok.. I understand that. But still the pictures are turning out great.
Anyhow, I ended up leaving the store feeling pretty bad. Because now I have
these
lenses that I dont know if they will hurt my camera.
Also, why would you have to buy a auto focus filter when you use the camera in
manual most of the time?
I hope ya'll can shed some light on this for me.
Here is the equipment that I am using, please, if any of them sound like
they will injure my camera let me know:

Camera Body ZX50

Pentax 35-80mm f4-22 (came with the camera)(works with the auto focus and
manual focus)

Hanimex Automatic 135mm f2.8-16 (i have to use manual to focus this one)

Quantaray 2X AF Teleconverter for Pentax (i use this on manual focus)

Focal MC Auto 1:2.8 f=28mm MK84713519 (this came with another lens that i
won on ebay, i dont see any name brand on it but they had a KMart paper
with them. i typed out what was on the lens)(i have to use this on manual
focus)

Mitakon MC Zoom 1:4.5 f=80-200mm (this is the one the above came with)(i
have to use this on manual focus)

Sakar Macro 1:3.8X 75-200mm f4.5-22 PK-A/R (this one has a Green A where
the fstops are. I also dont understand what it means by Macro 1:3.8X) (i
have to use this on manual focus)

(the only one that will work with my auto focus is the one that came with
the camera.)

Also, I was thinking that I really dont need 2 lenses that are 200mm, but I
have no idea of which one to get rid of. I have not had time to shoot a
whole lot of film with them but what I have shot I do like.
I know this is alot of questions but any help sure would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rebecca
