Wendy -
I've used The Pentax converter, Photoshop CS.
Photoshop CS does a better job and is faster, but the Pentax convert, for all the complaints is adequate.
If you have Photoshop CS here are a couple of references that will help you get everything out of the converter.
First - Buy this book.
Real World Camera Raw with Adobe Photoshop CS by Bruce Fraser.
After I read the book and had a better understanding of how the converter work the quality of my conversion improved. I also had a better grasp on which manipulations were better made in the raw converter and which would be better made in Photoshop.
Next - here's a link to some free stuff that will significantly improve your throughput on batch conversions.
Click here, <http://www.russellbrown.com/body.html> and look at "Dr. Brown's Image Processor 2.0".
Download the huge tutorial and watch it. Then download the free processor and try it out.
See you later, gs
