Officials of Pentax Imaging announced a new corporate strategy for their photographic imaging division at a news conference today. "We are going to focus on what the customers want," said company officials. "Customers have been confused by our lens designations such as A, F, FA, FA-J, D FA, and DA." All lens offerings will now be grouped into two designations. "Our customers have been asking us to bring out another limited lens," said officials. "From now on, all of our high-quality lenses will be limited. That should satisfy customer demands." The current line of FA-J lenses will be renamed "Unlimited Lenses." "So customers will only have to choose between two types of lenses," explained company officials. The existing limited lenses will no longer be offered, to avoid confusion. "We expect consumer satisfaction to reach new levels."
Analysts praised the move, saying it positions Pentax to bring out new lens lines as market conditions warrant. Speaking off the record, company officials mentioned that some of the new lines under consideration include limitless lenses, limited unlimited lenses, limited limitless lenses, unlimited limitless lenses, limited limited lenses, truly limited lenses, and extremely limited lenses. Company officials also unveiled a new corporate motto: "Pentax: limiting your access to the world of photography."
