I just corrected the exact same problem on the exact
same lens - the fix was just as has already been
described.
Any fairly grippy rubber object should work, I picked
two chunks of rubber off my old worn out shoes, washed
them off, and pressed a piece in each side of the
nameplate ring to get enough grip to unscrew it. Once
that was off, a very small phillips head screwdriver
is required to tighten the screws.
