unfortunately I haven't heard of anything similar since. So how would one go
about keeping up to date with such events?

Linhof luck? Your deal with the Mamiya gear sounds pretty lucky to me! But
then again I've no clue what a Super Technika outfit is worth..

Btw, out of curiosity, would anyone happen to know the going rate for a F50
1.4 or a FA28 2.8? I know I've scored better than a bargain, but I don't
know how much exactly.

Cheers,
Ryan

Camera Club swap meets in big cities are a great place to buy stuff too

(or at

least used to be before eby). Probably my best deal ever was at one of

those.

There was a guy selling a Mamiya SB-67 outfit. He had a Polaroid back for

it. I

asked what he wanted. He said $50. So I bought it. The back that also fit

my

Mamiya Universal Press was going for about $250 used back then, and my

friendly

local dealer gave me $60 for the "P" adapter that I did not need on the
Universal. So total cost $-10.

On the other hand, I recall from a couple years back that someone on the

list (I

forget who it was) was given, yes I said given, a Linhof Super Technika

outfit.

Luck like that I never had.

lol! I'll sell you the F 50 1.4 and the FA 28 2.8 AL for 100 together,

but

that's only when you also buy the Hoya 49mm skylight filter (which I'm
letting go for a mere USD19,990, driveaway) I'm selling.

The 'romantic' look was a bit odd. It was shot using John's visibly

clean M

50 1.7, *ist D. Not sure what caused that soft focus look. Maybe the
exposure was a bit too long..

Cheers,
Ryan (in Brissie, what about you?)

Blimey Ryan, you got a great deal there! I'll give you $55 for the 50mm
and $65 for the 28mm q-:
(and yes, very romantic gold *ist D)

BTW - What city are you in?

David
