use the lowest sensitivity always, if you are going for exposure times in 
that range. raising the ISO raises thermal noise even more. several long 
exposures in a row will raise the thermal noise anyway as the sensor heats 
up.

For best image quality with automatic long time exposures with the *istD

it best to use the lowest sensitivity?  Should I take a 30 sec exposure on
200ASA; a 15 sec on 400ASA; or an 8 sec on 800ASA?
