Background:
Departure of the 2-156 of the 256th Brigade (LA National Guard) after a week at home
and heading back to Fort Hood. At this point no one new if we were going to see them
again for 12-15 months.

However they are coming home for a couple of weeks. They will depart for Kuwait and
Iraq Oct 2. There is joy and pain. In the "Goodbyes" there were no smiling faces to
be seen.

My son is a cavalry scout. He and his sister are in a photo in "Families". He just
graduated in Managment at UL and re-enrolled in petroleum engineering but that is on
hold.

My son is single. Those with wives or husbands and/or children are hit hardest. This
will happen again when they leave at the end of Sept.
