Well, we shall see just where Ivan will head to starting tomorrow. I have been contacted by a few people on the list. Some were curious as to how close I am to the water... The Gulf of Mexico is about 10 miles from me. The bay, about a quarter-mile. The water shown in the photo linked to below is just a bayou. The North Bay is not too much farther away. It may have been Frances - I have to look at the date to figure out which one :-) Nothing major, just a little rain and a bit of wind. This is the view from my back porch.
I will keep people informed - as long as the phone lines stay up, and there is no lightning in the area - as to how things are going here. I will be at home tomorrow awaiting word about work on the base and possible evacuations. The latest I heard is possible Wednesday/Thursday arrival.
