Just to keep those interested informed, everything should be fine here.
It looks like Ivan will hit land well west of me. Of course it still puts us on the worst side of the storm. But the more westerly the better for me. It is still a Category 4 hoping it lessens to a 3 by tomorrow morning as it hits land.
The winds should not be too bad here. I have ridden out a few tropical storms that had winds up to 80 mph. The surge is what I am looking at since I am on a bayou.
I am in an evacuation area so I am headed later this morning to my parents house just 2.5 miles down the road. I would ride it out in my place, but it is better to appease the folks :-)
So, I may not have a presence on the list for a little bit; not that I have had much of one lately. I am still in arrears a couple of days - maybe I will have time to answer some of them while I ride out the storm.
I was hoping for some photo opportunities from my place. I am not sure how it will be at the parents.
I will be taking the LXen, my Medium Format, and a smattering of my K-mount gear. The screwmount, who have survived all these years, will ride it out on their own. Hmmm, maybe I should have sent some of them to Canada :-)
Keeping dry,
