I do it on a lightbox (there's a bumper sticker in there somewhere). I wear lint-free cotton gloves to handle the slides, use a pair of large, sharp scissors to snip them, then everything clips into the Gepe mounts very easily. Once I've cut the slide I don't trim. The secret is to be confident about cutting them. Practice a bit first on something that you can ruin. You can buy specialist mounting equipment, with inbuilt lights and guillotines etc, and I did once buy a slide mounter, but I find it much easier to do it as described. It takes quite a long time to do a large batch of slides, and is very tedious. I gave up mounting them all years ago, and now only mount something if I'm going to project it. -- Cheers, Bob
