There are a good few people over here leaving supposedly good office jobs
with degrees to do just this - plumbing.

As fewer people are learning these skills, their work attracts a premium.

I have worked with a few people with several degrees and have noticed that
some of them are brilliant at gaining these degrees but find it difficult
to, er how shall we say, transfer those skills to the work environment.
