I was watching a Canadian Football League game on TV this afternoon. It was a nationally televised game on our largest cable sports network. At the end of the game, some viewer who send in an e-mail or something was awarded a prize.
A Pentax Optio!! Had a nice banner with Pentax in big letters across the screen and everything. I was impressed. Mind you, I wouldn't be surprised that NFL football outdraws Canadians on a Sunday afternoon, but still, at least Pentax is trying. Also, I noticed a week or so ago, that there are quite a few Pentax Optio adverts on the sides of buses here in Toronto. And, for months now, there have been at least two Pentax Optio billboards in downtown Toronto. PhotoLife (I think that's what it's called) is one of Canada's largest photography mags - it's annual readers' photography contest has a grand prize package which includes a *istD kit and a couple of Pentax lenses. Pentax Canada's PR dept seems to be working overtime these days. Just thought you might like to know... cheers, frank -- "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." -Henri Cartier-Bresson
