John,

Interesting question. It appears that the lens has 5.6, 8, 11 and 16, but
not 22 (which is labelled on the aperture ring). The aperture goes from
wide open at 5.6 to way stopped down at 16, but does not stop down further
when you set it to 22. I've had a few generic adapters apart (as well as a
few 'K' mount lenses) and I know the setup is sensitive - I'm not going to
play with this one, but maybe somebody else knows if the "missing one stop"
is a common condition for TX to K adapters (?)

The aperture position tab does move when the ring is moved from 16 to 22, so
the camera body would be fooled into metering for f/22, even though the lens
was actually at f/16 (maybe I should reduce the price by $15?).

Jim,

Question about the vivitar 400 tx mount. I have
a vivitar 300 tx mount. Lens has 5.6 but with TX
to PK mount the max f/stop is 8. Is the 400 the
same?

Thanks,
