Now a serious question for the canucks. I'm still trying to find a decent bed. One that won't crumble at the slightest movement (IKEA / Fly) (hey I'm a caveman I'm hard on beds) and that doesn't look like the "Shabby Chich" (TM) ones (Brault & Martineau / Leon / Brick).
Found something really decent, european style et al. chez Mariette Clairmont but that's quite out of my price range.
Any ideas where to look ???? Pleeeease ?
I built my own.
2x8 fir framework, overfinished to a glasslike sheen with a king sized Nautilus on top.
It's a pretty good bed, it was built from salvaged lumber from my attic, and surplus roof sheathing.
Its rigid and heavy, so it doesn't flex or move around the room during recreational use.
