I'm very new to b/w photography, and I am captivated
by how b/w images seem to portray so much more than
color images. Perhaps the colors in a color photo are
too distracting for me. :) I used to swear by Velvia,
but now I think Tri-X is simply wonderful. I got a
couple of rolls of Plus-X, hoping to try them out
soon.
I was thinking in the near future, b/w prints from
color paper may be just the way to go for novice b/w
photographers like me. Like you mentioned, real b/w
may be just too expensive to encourage newbies to
explore in this area.
