Sorry, this answer was too short.
Mine is a proII - at lesat it says so on the box, not on the lens. An it is
a 2.6-2.8. I like it a lot but it's been damaged and the AF without the
focus ring moving, doesn't work anymore - it moves all the time. So, I want
annother one. I found one (ebay) which is not Pro II, just Pro and -
allegedly - a 2.6-2.8 and NOT the later SV version. However, the desciption
in the ebay add is quite misleading.

I still recall some mails from/to Tanya about this lens. The info on the
different models are quite confusing IMO. All I know is that the optical
qualities of the one I've got (Tokina AT-X 270 AF ProII) is brilliant. Close
to that of the original Pentax FA 2.8/28-70mm, which has a really HUGE price
tag. I'm not in for this at all for my *ist D, but for 200 USD I might
consider annother Tokina AT-X.

I'm kind of mixed up here. If it's a Pro II, it would be a 2.6-2.8 lens,
no?
