Smart cars aren't sold in the US. That's why you haven't seen them. I think
DaimlerChrylser still owns a majority interest in the company that builds them.
They're actually quite nice if you like itty-bitty cars. You'll see a lot of them
throughout Europe and in Mexico, as well as other places. I think they're selling
quite well.

Now, just what would a "...ridiculous little Mercedes Benz Stupid car" be?
I'm afraid I can't see past your prejudice...

Be afraid.....

Ha, ha, hah...
That's sure a teeny car, alright!
And, it's "Mercedes connection" is that M-B developed it back in the early '90s.
It's being made by Micro Compact Car smart GmbH, Germany since 1998, and some outfit in France.
They were developed and tested right here in Southern California, and while I do tend to get around a bit, I've never seen even one on the road out here.
Hardly propogating like cockroaches, are they? <g>

The most unsafe aspect of this car is, someday some rough, tough dudes in a big ol' truck will drive up, throw a couple of wide yellow cargo bands around it, winch it up into the bed, and drive off! Total time about 5 minutes! Maybe less...

I am pretty sure I could carry one in the back of my truck.

Thanks for the education, William!
