Actually, I disagree. Hands apart seem to indicate the notion / action of
applauding (how far apart they are also tends to suggest how much / hard
the person / audience is applauding, hence conveying more info). Hands
*together*, on the other hand, look like praying... no sense of motion...
no idea other than a caption that the subject would be clapping.

I disagree here, too. Around to the front would give a boring straight-on
shot. Angles are good.

Anyhow, I like the expression.  I do agree with that other guy on one
account, however: I wish the hands of the guy on the left weren't cut. His
hands closed, plus the other guys open give you the full sense of
applause. Lighting is fine (given the scenario). And I also like the guy
in the back on the right, for some reason. Overall (with the camera,
people, background in general), there's a pretty decent sense of
environment for such a closely cropped photo. Hope that helps.
