Hi Here goes: 1-Why did you buy a Pentax *istD. I gor tired of scanning negs. And I own app. 20 Pentax lenses.
2-Did you previously own a P&S digital prior to the D. Yes. Sony DSC F717 3-Did you compare printed quality of the D to scanned images before and or after the purchase.. No 4-What problems have you had with the D. Was service satisfactory.(asking this to see if the camera has constant faults of one nature or another) No - the AF is a bit slow in low light, though 5-What do you like about the images printed from the camera. Sharp, contraty, brilliant. For critical stuff I underexpose and use low contrast. 6-What DON�T you like about the images printed from the camera. They are too expesive. 7-What lenses, Pentax or other, do you find work well with your camera/shooting style.(sharpness etc) They all work well except for the tiny hazzle using K and M lenses. I use Tokina ATX 28-70mm, A 2.8/20mm and M*4/300mm the most. 7a- What lenses, Pentax or other, do you find DO NOT work well with your camera/shooting style.(sharpness etc 35mm wideangles are not wide anymore. 8-Has digital taken the place of 35mm film shooting for you Yes 9-Do you still shoot film, if so what format(s) Yes, 6x6 perhaps 35mm slides 10-How do you post process.(PS, Corel etc) Phase One LE and PS 11-Do you shoot RAW or JPEG or what is needed for the job at hand. Yes, both, not Tiff 11a-How big have you printed with quality you are happy with. 20x30cm and 15cm x 112 cm panoramas made from perhaps 30 shots 12-How do you rate flash shooting. 8-9 out of 10. It really works well, but low light is not so good - it takes too long before AF assist starts. 13-If a Pentax rep stopped by your house, what would you like to tell him/her to fix or change or add.. AE for K and M lenses (Are you lsitening Pentax?), faster AF and perhaps better AF assist. 14-What do you use the D for mostly ie: Portraits, sports, weddings etc. Arkitecture(planning subjects), portraits, MACHROS and panoramas - mostly at work. Anything Really! Even aerial photography. Brilliant camera!
