I have already bought the Canon 20D and am very pleased with it with the exception of the size. The *istD is a much nicer camera to travel around with. However, I do a lot of indoor photography and that means low light. The 20D has the best low-light autofocus I've ever seen, though I've never handled the large pro 1Ds, D2H etc. Also, the iso performance is excellent. I consistently use 1600 without having to cringe. Basically, if you can stand the size, I don't think you are going to get a better body for $1500.
Canon lenses are a bit of a mixed bag though. Pentax lenses are good value and compact. The ones I'm selling now served me well and I am sorry to have to part with them. However, Canon's USM is a definitely plus though for my shooting style and typical environment. There is this tendency for Canon users to start dribbling over their L-lenses, which are equivalent to Pentax Limiteds. After using their 24-85, which is a pretty reasonable standard lens for a DSLR, I feel like Pentax's mid-range offerings are definitely better. That being said, I don't do macro and I don't do long zooms so I can't comment on that. -----Original Message----- From: Tim Sherburne [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, November 03, 2004 12:00 PM To: Mark Cho Subject: Re: A bunch of Pentax lens auctions and an *istD on ebay Hi Mark... Just out of curiosity, are you moving to Canon? I've been considering the 20D. It's a potent offering, and, wow, there's so many lens choices! Tim On 11/3/04 6:17, Mark Cho wrote: > Hi guys.
