I agree. I used to have the biggest, meanest-looking rottweiler you've ever
seen. He was also one of the most loving pooches I've ever had, as well as
the most stupid (which, incidentally, only added to his charm). Of all the
dogs I and my family have had, oddly enough, airedale terriers and a black
lab were the most ill-tempered and aggressive.

Here in Arkansas, we have a lot of pit bull attacks, many resulting in
death. Unfortuately, the people who acquire them do so because they WANT a
mean dog, and if they don't think it's mean enough, they will deliberately
make it meaner. The reason we have attacks is because the people who own
these dogs are also under the delusion that they are not required by law to
restrain their dog - of ANY breed - in any way. Any dog allowed to roam at
will has the potential to do harm to someone. What really ticks me and most
everyone else off is that these people get pretty indignant when they're
told Killer will have to be put down because he mauled a 4-year-old to
death.
