Very nice shots. We had some "Nordlys" (North light) as well over here in Scandinavia. If that's what it is - some kind of a magnetic storm deriving from sun-spots. I didn't see it, but lots of people did. Actaully I haven't seen in since I was a kid.

Space weather sites categorized it as extreme. Here's a few quick picks. All were TIF's taken with the *ist D at ISO 400 and the FA 43/f1.9.
